Application for a Grant:
Please read the following guidance notes and then complete the Application Form shown below.
The Azelia Hall Charity has a longstanding commitment to the provision of a building to improve the conditions of life for residents of the Bromley area.
In 2025 we expanded our offering to include a Grant Scheme to support this activity.
We now provide grants of up to £5,000 to Bromley residents and to local charities and others that serve those residents.
The eligibility criteria is simple:
1. Beneficiaries must live in the Bromley area.
2. The services are for those who are unwell or convalescent, or who
are dealing with physical / mental disabilities or challenges.
(If any questions, please email: grants@azeliahallbeckenham.co.uk)
Frequently asked questions which you may find helpful:
Do you fund outside of Bromley?
No. Our remit is the London Borough of Bromley only.
Will you consider giving more than £5,000?
We may consider giving more in exceptional circumstances, but you have a far better chance of success if your application is within the £5,000 limit we have set.
Will you require further information?
We ask for just basic information initially and often that is sufficient. However, we may ask for supporting information in some cases.
if you are successful in receiving a grant, we will require some confirmation information on how the grant was actually used, but will not require onerous reporting.
Is there a minimum grant?
No. If your scheme meets the criteria and only needs £100 and can tell us what it is for, then apply for that amount.
Will you fund individuals?
Ideally you would be a charity or another registered initiative of some kind (e.g. a CIC), but we will consider strong applications from individuals - whose objectives and outcomes meet our criteria - in the service of vulnerable Bromley residents.
What if we are not a registered charity?
It may help your application if you are a registered charity, so do please tell us, however we do not rule out non-profit initiatives that do not have charitable status. You need only have a strong application that meets our criteria.
What reporting do you require from grantees?
We do not require onerous reporting, though we may like to collect some feedback on the impact made by our grants and grantees.
How long until I can expect a response to my application?
We will do our best to be timely, and would expect to normally respond with a decision within a few weeks. If your requirement is urgent, please make that clear in your application.
Will I get any feedback on an unsuccessful application?
Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to give feedback to unsuccessful applicants or expand on any decisions taken.
Will you provide regular funding?
No. Our mandate is for single, one-off grants, with every new application judged on its own merits. However, you can apply for a grant to cover staff or service costs for a fixed period of time of up to one year.
Do you provide funding for core services?
It depends what they encompass. We would like to know what precisely you need the grant for and how it would be spent to make a judgement on your application.
If we have been successful before, can we apply again?
Yes. We will review every new application on its own merits according to our criteria.
If we have been unsuccessful before, can we apply again?
Yes. We will review every new application on its own merits according to our criteria.
